Women in the United States have earned many freedoms not enjoyed by women worldwide. Let’s celebrate the 100-year anniversary of women’s suffrage in the US in 2020, by working to ensure that women worldwide enjoy the same liberties that US women have come to expect. Making this case is the linked TED Talk, where the theme is “Creating the Future”. Due to the quick timing of TED (18 minutes) the full discussion is yet to happen. Let’s discuss how this initiative can focus our minds and hearts on liberty, dignity, economic freedom, access to the law, among other efforts, to bring the lives of women worldwide into alignment with the rights enumerated in the US Bill of Rights. This is not a government initiative. Though lawmakers have an important role to play, the tide of history is turned by passion, hard work, caring and commitment. These same qualities define a successful woman as a colleague, a mother, a wife, a daughter, a sister and as a friend. I look forward to hearing from you ~ US women and international women friends ~ and the men that love them.
Let’s talk about what we can do. A world with liberty for all is truly unprecedented.
